We asked Gina Blaxill what her inspiration behind Forget Me Never and whether she has any special
techniques for writing thrillers?
Forget Me Never starts with a classic detective scenario – a death everyone writes off as suicide except one person who’s sure it’s murder and goes out to prove it.
I love detective fiction and books that take classic situations and reinvent them and that was my starting point for Forget Me Never.
I also wanted to give a nod to Hendon in the book, which is where Sophie lives and a funny place I know very, very well.
The trick to writing thrillers is deciding how much a reader should know when, varying the pace with fast, exciting events and more fun, reflective moments.
