VOTE Hayley Long for Queen of Teen

As far as I can see it, there really is only one reason to ever do anything, and that is so that you can be pronounced QUEEN of something. For example, I fully anticipate that one day I will be crowned QUEEN OF BLABBING AT PEOPLE ABOUT BOOKS UNTIL THEY READ/REVIEW/LOVE THEM. That’s not too much of a mouthful really, is it?

By the same token, surely the only reason someone would ever become a YA author is so that one day they could be crowned QUEEN OF TEEN. How cool is that? I for one know FOR A FACT that I was at my absolute coolest when I was a teenager, therefore being able to be a grown up AND be Queen of the teenagers is surely an opportunity too good to be missed.

Upon further investigation into this QUEEN OF TEEN business I have discovered that not only the winner, but a number of runners up receive the following treatment:

The chance to attend a super glitzy and dazzling award ceremony.
Transportation to said ceremony in PINK LIMOS.
The opportunity to guzzle pink champagne and cute cupcakes.
Tiaras for the runners up and A CROWN for the winner.
The joy of sharing this with a load of adoring fans.

WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE?

And as if this whole business couldn’t get any more exciting, it turns out IT CAN! Our very own HAYLEY LONG has been shortlisted for this fantastic honour.

In my humble opinion, our Hayley has got just what it takes to be QUEEN OF TEEN. She is brilliantly hilarious, writes fantastic YA novels absolutely bursting with warmth, humour and integrity, AND she’s been practicing for the part since she was FIVE.
