Happy Halloween

by My Kinda Book

It's that trick or treating time of year again and of course we're going to be piling on the treats!
This Halloween we're giving away some of our finest spooky books leading up to All Hallows Eve and then a mega giveaway on the day. So check in here from the 26th October till the 31st October 2012 to find out what's on offer.

There's lots of other treats going on if you read down like true paranormal stories from Josephine Angelini and Jana Oliver (actually very creepy). A good old fashioned pumpkin carving challenge that we've already enlisted the MKB team in helping – and because we’re all about sustainability what to do with all the pumpkin innards with some Starcrossed pumpkin inspired recipes.

We also want you to show us your Halloween make-up and nails – and tell us how you did it to be in with a chance of winning some suitably vampish make-up

So click on the links here or scroll down to find out more!

Truly shaken by the experience, I retreated to the central courtyard and tried to deal with the vivid images I’d witnessed

I stopped believing in ghost stories, mostly because I had spent my entire childhood as someone’s sucker.  Then something strange happened to me, late one night in a bar in Hollywood.

We didn't think such a thing existed - but it does!

Pumpkin Pie Popsicles - yes you heard right

INGREDIENTS

230g of unsweetened coconut milk

115g pumpkin puree

1 tbs agave sweetener or maple syrup

1/2 tsp cinnamon

pinch of salt

  1. In a bowl, whisk together all ingredients. Add extra sweetener to taste.
  2. Pour into popsicle mould with about 1/4 inch room at the top. Put the mould topper on and place popsicle sticks through. Freeze for about 2 hours or until frozen solid.
  3. Gently remove pops from moulds and enjoy!
